December Celebrations

We're pretty proud of the Nespelem Eagles undefeated Panarama League team.

While this team was practicing on the courts, they were also practicing with their classmates on academics.  We learned to ask good --- no great --- questions.  Asking a good question is often better than finding just an answer.  We learned about open [thick] and closed [thin] questons:

Closed-ended questions – they can be answered with “yes” or “no” or with one word or phrase.
Open-ended questions – they require an explanation and cannot be answered with yes” or “no” or with one word.

We also have a process for asking good questions: QFT

We also participated in the Hour of Code with millions of people around the world. Students chose the coding app of their choice and learned how to use the best and most concise set of directions to make their app work.  Lots of debugging occurred with plenty of peer help. It was a great time.  We continue "Hour of Code" each Monday for twenty minutes.

Debugging: Code, test, code, test, code, test...

Success !

Learning Python Language through Code Combat:

And then, of course, there's Holiday Program Practice:

And finally, students finished their Travel Blogs with our blogging buddies. Just click a student blog in the left sidebar to read a few [some blogs are private]. Check out these four:
